Why You Want to Start an Online Business in 2009

Posted under 1 -- The Online Life by admin on Sunday 3 January 2010 at 9:57 pm

The economy is down, unemployment is through the roof, we’re in the worst financial crisis since the great depression. Sounds like the worst time to start an online business right? Wrong! The year 2009 could be the perfect time to start an online business because of all the turmoil going on in the business world. Let me explain…

While the rest of the business world is in shambles the online business world is doing well. According to the Department of Commerce U.S. Retail E-commerce sales numbers are up all around. The 2nd Quarter of 2008 saw $34.6 billion in sales which was a 2.9% increase from the 1st quarter and a 9.5% increase from the second quarter of 2007. Just recently on “Cyber Monday” (the online world’s “black Friday”) the online world saw another positive sign, consumers spent $846 billion on cyber Monday which was an increase of 15% over 2007’s cyber Monday.

So, why is e-commerce increasing in such tough times?

The Increasing e-commerce Today

The Increasing e-commerce Today

Consumer spending is low, layoffs have started to happen and will continue to happen throughout the first quarter of 2009, so consumers have obviously realized it’s time to start saving. It is widely known that you are able to get the best deals online for any type of item you want. The reason for this is that online businesses are easier to maintain and cost less to run. These savings translate into better deals for consumers.

The other positives about shopping online include not having to fight traffic or wake up early, you spend less money on gas, etc. All this has combined to make for a rather good money-making holiday season for online retailers in a down economy. With the economy not expected to rebound until late 2009 to early 2010, consumers will continue to deal hunt and those hunts will lead them to online retailers and businesses.

The online business environment is easy to get into, too, which works to your benefit! An online business could be retail, blogging, copywriting, marketing, etc. That being said, it is not as easy to succeed in online business, because there is a lot of competition. However, there are things you can do to set you ahead.

Marketing online is all about the mix and measurability. A survey by Hearst Electronics Group and Goldstein Group of business to business marketers showed that the “migration of communications budgets from traditional media to online has accelerated to the point where nearly half of all spending, 47 percent, is spent on online marketing techniques today.” This is being done because online advertising methods are easily measured. In a time when budgets are being cut back and cash is strapped it is important that you know where to get the most bang for your buck. You can use free programs like Google analytics to measure your marketing efforts. This program will show you everything you need to know about how users are coming to your site, where they’re going on your site, and when and where they are leaving from your site. This amount of measurability allows you to spend less money and make more of it.

The ways of advertising your site online are free or cheap as well. Methods of advertising like social networking, article marketing, blog reviews, and forum posting are all free methods of advertising that can get your site noticed. Search engine optimization is also a key part. You can either pay a company to do that for you or you can do that yourself and make it free. Video advertising is another important way to advertise your site and that is free (after you buy the program to make the videos). You cannot forget about Pay-per-click marketing as well. Google Adwords is the premiere service for this type of advertising. These advertisements show up on the right side of the screen when you search for something on Google. This is an important method because you only pay when someone clicks on the ad and goes to your site, which makes it a relatively cheap way to get visitors to your site and it is targeted to certain keywords so the people coming to your site are already looking for what you are selling.

As you can see there are plenty of reasons to start an online business in 2009. The ease of entry, the cheap advertising, the multiple types of business you could create are all great reasons to get started now. Online business is not going away and while it isn’t recession-proof, the numbers are showing that online is one of the fastest growing segments of business in terms of sales revenue. It hasn’t stopped in a sluggish economy and it will only increase when the economy recovers.  The year 2009 is your year to start an online business and be successful at it!

Earn Residual Income From Home Using ClickBank

Posted under 1 -- The Online Life by admin on Sunday 20 September 2009 at 8:24 pm

Looking for a simple way to earn residual income from home?

I definitely understand what you’re going through - making someone else rich isn’t the life I want and that’s the reason why I need to find a way to build residual income and be an entrepreneur.

Let me show you the simple steps on how you can build residual money from home using ClickBank.

Go to ClickBank

Head over and check out the ClickBank Marketplace. Select “Recurring Billing” under the Product Type drop-down menu. For example, choose Health and Fitness category and enter the weight loss in the keywords text box.

After you press go, browse the results under each product listing and look for something like this: Future $: $26.62.

That statistic basically means that if you refer someone to the merchant’s sales page and purchased the website’s offer, you will get $26.62 every month until the one you referred decides to discontinue taking services from the merchant.

Write a Blog Post

Next step is you need to write an article or a blog post for the product that you are promoting. You don’t need to write long-winded articles because most of the time visitors only have a limited amount of time. They get frustrated when they see big blocks of text. Remember that visitors generally scan webpages.

Write unique content and don’t copy text from the merchant’s sales page. Provide your readers with a genuine review and a good amount of quality information about the product.

Drive Traffic

Final step is to drive highly targeted traffic. You can do this by using either paid advertising (Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing) or article marketing. All of your previous efforts will be wasted if you don’t have enough traffic.

Making Money Online With Newsletters

Posted under 1 -- The Online Life by admin on Sunday 13 September 2009 at 3:49 am

Many online marketers make the mistake of bombarding a list of potential clients with promotional spam email for their products in the effort to earn on the internet. If you’ve ever been on the receiving end of these emails, you know that it’s like the equivalent of listening to a telemarketer: the first thing you want to do is hang up and avoid their calls forever!

To make a serious and steady online income, you’ll need to focus on building a relationship with your potential clients. Work hard to focus on quality, not quantity. Most marketers think that generating internet money is a numbers game and send out hundreds of emails a day to their lists. While you may make a few bucks by using this method - after all, you’re bound to get some response - it’s not the smart way to build a steady income and a loyal clientele. If you want your internet business to succeed, relationship-building should be just as vital a part of your business plan in order to make money on the internet.

So how exactly do you get the kind of clients who will visit your website again and again? The answer is much simpler than you think: start an online newsletter that’s stuffed with great information on your niche!

If you’re willing to put in the time - or have the means to hire a freelance writer - an online newsletter is one of the greatest tools towards building a successful online empire and to make more internet money. Take the time to research some major questions that are being asked in your specific field. For example, if you find that many people are looking for an easy-to-read e-book about list building - and you happen to offer that product - stuff your newsletters full of helpful how-to articles and accurate tips. Be sure that your articles always end with a small but powerful promotional pitch for your product with a direct link to your website. Send out your newsletter frequently to your clients, and watch how fast your website becomes a cash-making machine; after all, your clients will appreciate the effort that you’re going through to bring valuable information into their lives for absolutely free.

Build Relationships Online And Youre Already on Your Way to Success

Build Relationships Online And You're Already on Your Way to Success

It’s a simple business lesson that’s so important to remember, especially for internet marketers: if you take the time to build a base of consumers who are loyal to you and your product, you’ll have the means for building a steady income - for life!

Website Traffic Uncovered — Attract Traffic on Demand (With pdf Download!)

Posted under 1 -- The Online Life by admin on Thursday 10 September 2009 at 2:17 am

It does not matter whether you are providing products for every day function or services, if your website is not obtaining targeted visitors known as traffic on a regular basis, it follows that your business will simply go nowhere and die. So how do you go and get traffic for your website? Website traffic is basically the amount of visitors together with prospective prospects that visit your website on a daily or monthly basis.

There are lots of methods by which you could attract web traffic or targeted prospects to your website and two of the best ways are link exchanges and video upload sites.

Link exchanges have constantly been a fantastic search engine optimization tool. It is simply the system of trading links with the most popular sites online. It is only successful as long as you trade web links with sites which are connected to your organization. A vital detail is that the site you trade links with needs to be ranked high on the search engines such as Google and Yahoo! Also link exchanges will ensure that extra websites also get linked to your site and this will assist you in boosting your search engine results. This is why link exchanges are thought of as one of the easiest ways to get targeted traffic to your website.

The next system is video uploads. Sites such as YouTube, Google Video Upload, Meta cafe, Ziggler, Nelsok, and lots more provide the chance for you to upload your videos to the web. You will have to be a member initially. You should upload videos connected to your products or services or maybe even upload a customer evaluation video of any product. The thought behind video marketing is to build a brand or business recognition over the web, this will assist you in driving related web traffic to your site.

Internet Marketing for Beginners - A Guide

Posted under 1 -- The Online Life by admin on Monday 7 September 2009 at 9:02 pm

Internet Marketing can be a strange world for beginners. So much information to take in, so much to learn, so many people who want your hard-earned cash. This article will explain all about Internet Marketing for beginners and how you can start profiting today.

So let’s get right into it.

You should be reading this article if you haven’t made any money online yet, are just starting out and need to re-learn the basics, or even if you still consider yourself a beginner in Internet Marketing.

There are main methods of making money online:

1) Selling Your Own Stuff

This involves creating an information product such as a PDF report containing a guide for something (how to lose weight, for example), an audio or video series, and/or tutorials. Basically you should be selling your visitors information which solves a problem that they’re currently having.

Even if you’re a beginner in the niche you’re selling to, you can still collect information from elsewhere and compile it into a completely new product.

You can see why this is particularly effective in modern society, as we’re increasingly becoming an information-based society to improve our skills to solve problems.

However, if you’re an Internet Marketing beginner, you should avoid ‘popular’ niches such as weight loss, health and fitness, and the make money online niche.

2) Selling Other People’s Stuff - ‘Affiliate Marketing

This is particularly effective for making easy cash, as someone else has already created a product FOR YOU, so you can jump straight into the marketing side of it to make some quick cash (which is what beginners usually enjoy).

Essentially, you sell someone else’s product for a split of the profit, set by the product owner, usually as a percentage. This is called a ‘commission’.

When you sign up to their affiliate programme, you’ll be given a special link which you should send to your customers to order through. When someone orders through your link, the product owner will see it and pay you the agreed commission.

3) Advertising Revenue

The basic idea here is to build a website in a specific niche to receive a lot of visitors (’traffic’) and eventually put advertising on it when it grows popular. This may be tough as a beginner, so it’s usually best to create some authority for your personal brand to begin with.

Probably the most popular advertising advertising revenue source is ‘Google AdSense’. All you have to do is copy and paste a unit of code on your website to display their advertisements, and you get paid every time someone clicks on one of the advertisement links.

Finally, there’s advertising banners. These aren’t as popular as they were previously, mainly due to losing their responsiveness and getting damn annoying, but are still a good source of income for people who consider themselves beginners at Internet Marketing.

So with all of these choices available to you, which is the most profitable in the long term? The answer: Creating and selling your own product. This is because you have freedom to change anything - the price, the offer, the product… Anything! Also, it’s easier keep customers in the long term, which you wouldn’t usually get with affiliate promotions.

I hope this article on Internet Marketing For Beginners has helped, and good luck with your product creating!

Simple Site - Big Profits

Posted under 1 -- The Online Life by admin on Monday 7 September 2009 at 8:48 pm

When most of us hear about the possibility of earning big money online, the next idea that tends to come to our minds is that it isn’t something for us and that it is for the ”big boys of technology” who have the resources and expertise to make big online business happen. The notion that having considerable resources and technical expertise are necessary requirements for making big online profits might have some merits, but the truth of the matter is that with the proper strategy it is possible to earn big profits even without so much in terms of resources or technical expertise.

One of the ways you can get to earn such big profits without having to know too much about technology and without having to invest too much in terms of money either is by building a simple - but highly effective - website. The simplicity we are talking about here with regard to the website, by the way, is a degree of simplicity that makes it possible even for the absolute newbie to computers to create such a website.

There are many ways to go about building a new website with ease and simplicity.

While web hosting comes really cheap today, often at less than $5 a month for starter sites, you might still decide to go with the free hosting available online. One option is to go with a company that allows you to host for free with them in exchange for ad space on your site. If this model sounds off-putting to you, you can opt for blogging platforms. Examples of these include the Google-owned ‘Blogger’ or ‘word-press’ - both of which come absolutely free of charge.

The first question of web hosting answered, we turn to creating content for your website. Now as we say in Internet business circles, content is king - and it is quality of content that you are able to generate at this stage that will ultimately determine the amount of profits that you get out of the whole venture at its fruition. Ideally, you should go for content that people are really looking for (do proper keyword research), but then also content that you are in competent position to provide cost-effectively.

For a content management solution, that is, the tool you use to put the content you decide on online, you can use the free and intuitive content management solutions that the various free and paid hosting services nowadays come with; like the blogging software behind ‘Blogger’ and ‘Wordpress’ if either is your choice - or the ’site builder’ software behind most free and paid hosting services nowadays. This does not call for any real level of technical expertise, and even a person handling a computer for the first time today can still build a website with it.

Blogger and Wordpress are the two leading blogging sites with free hosting on the net today!

Blogger and Wordpress are the two leading blogging sites with free hosting on the net today!

Once you have the simple website so built in place, the next key to making huge profits out of it is by driving traffic to it. In other words, this is getting people to visit it. Here, as means of getting people to visit your website, you have to consider things like search engine optimization (which you can do for yourself for free, if you have the time and tenacity), or which you can pay someone a small fee to do for you. You can bring in tons of traffic through opting for a paid for online advertising program like Google’s Adwords or Yahoo! Ads program. Do everything you can at this stage, remembering that it is the quantity and quality of traffic you can get for your website that would determine the amounts of profits you can make off your simple website.

Once the simple website you created starts getting decent amounts of traffic, the next key to making good profits out of it is selecting a relevant monetization program for it. In this regard, you have the option of enrolling it onto an affiliates marketing program (and selling stuff directly on it) or enrolling it for a Pay Per Click program like Google’s Adsense, if the amounts of traffic to it are high enough.

Copy n Profit — Taking the Guesswork out of Profits

Posted under 1 -- The Online Life by admin on Monday 13 July 2009 at 2:55 am

Copy N Profit is a money making product put together by Jamie Lewis and his partners. It follows the current trend by the money making gurus of offering completed material that you can cut and paste for profit.

For many years, all you could find about making money was PDF eBooks that would vaguely explain using AdWords. Those books probably made a fortune for their writers, not to mention Google.

But most of the customers failed miserably. I wonder if it is coincidence that all of those AdWords guides provided keyword lists and pre-written ads for themselves?

The latest trend is to provide actual templates. These can be web pages or complete campaigns that have been tested and optimized. Copy N Profit provides both.

All you need to do is cut and paste the working campaigns and siphon off your share of the profits. But that is only the beginning.

You will learn what works and what doesn’t. You will eventually find ways to do it better, to do it your own way. The big benefit of Copy N Profit is that you will actually make money while you are learning how to make money.

In the end, you will find your own best way to make money. But it is nice to know going in that you will make a little bit of money while you are learning to make a lot.

If nothing else it is nice to see those guru products that claim you will make an overnight fortune actually deliver on some part of the promise.

Make Money Online (Without Spending a Dime)

Posted under 1 -- The Online Life by admin on Wednesday 1 July 2009 at 12:55 am

Making money online used to pretty much require you to have your own Web site, products to sell and some marketing savvy. But a new generation of dot-coms have arisen that will pay you for what you know and who you know without you having to be a web designer or a marketing genius.

http://www.cybercashology.com/images/Make_Money_Online.jpg

But it’s hard to tell hype from the real deal. I did a search on “make money online” and “making money online”, and much of the information out there is just promoting various infoproducts, mostly about Internet marketing. I see why people sometimes ask, “Is anyone making money online besides Internet marketing experts?”

So I put together a list of business opportunities with legitimate companies that:

  • Pay cash, not just points towards rewards or a chance to win money

  • Don’t require you to have your own Web domain or your own products

  • Don’t involve any hard-selling

  • Aren’t just promoting more Internet marketing

  • Give a good return on your time investment

In the interest of objectivity, none of the links below are affiliate links, and none of them have paid or provided any other consideration for their presence here. These are legitimate companies with business models that allow you to get paid for a wide range of activities.

Help friends find better jobs.

Sites like ReferEarns, Zyoin, Who Do You Know For Dough?, Bohire and WiseStepp connect employers with prospective employees, many of whom are already employed and not actively job-hunting, via networking - the people who know these qualified candidates. Rewards for referring a candidate who gets hired range from $50 on up to several thousand dollars - not chump change. If you know a lot of job-seekers (and who doesn’t these days?), this is a great way to break into the recruiting business with no overhead.

Connect suppliers with buyers.

Referral fees are a common practice in business, but they haven’t been used much in online networking sites because there was no way to track them. Sites like Salesconx, InnerSell and uRefer now provide that. Vendors set the referral fees they’re willing to pay (and for what), and when the transaction happens, you get paid. uRefer also allows merchants to set up referral programs for introductions and meetings, as well as transactions.

Write.

A growing number of sites will pay for your articles or blog posts. Associated Content and Helium will “pay for performance” based on page views for just about anything you want to write about. Articles on specific topics they’re looking for can earn direct payments up to about $200. The rates are probably low for established writers, but if you’re trying to break into the field and have time on your hands, they’re a great way to start. Also, a lot of companies are looking for part-time bloggers. They may pay per post or on a steady contract. Our Weblogs Guide posts blogging jobs weekly in the forum.

Start your own blog.

You don’t have to have your own Web site, or install blogging software, or even figure out how to set up the advertising. At Blogger you can set up a blog for free in less than five minutes without knowing a thing about web design, and Blogger even automates setting up Google AdSense so you can make money off your blog by displaying ads and getting paid when people click on the ads. To make even more money from it, set up an affiliate program (see below) for books, music, etc., and insert your affiliate links whenever you refer to those items. You’ll have to get a lot of traffic to become a six-figure blogger, but pick an interesting topic, write well, tell all your friends, and you’re off to a good start.

Related: Monetizing Your Blog

Create topical resource hubs.

Are you an expert on a particular niche topic? Can you put together an overview of the topic and assemble some of the best resources on the topic from around the web? Then you can create topical hubs and get paid through sites like Squidoo, HugPages and Google Knol. Payments are based on a combination of ad revenue and affiliate fees. You’ll get higher rates doing it on your own, but these sites have a built-in supply of traffic and tools to make content creation easier.

Advertise other people’s products.

If you already have a Web site or a blog, look for vendors that offer related but non-competing products and see if they have an affiliate program. Stick to familiar products and brands - they’re easier to sell. To promote those products:

  • Place simple text or graphical ads in appropriate places on your site

  • Include links to purchase products you review or recommend in a blog, discussion forum or mailing list you control

  • Create a dedicated sales page or Web site to promote a particular product

They all work - it just depends on how much time you have to spend on it and your level of expertise with Web design and marketing.

Becoming Famous Through The Internet

Posted under 1 -- The Online Life by admin on Monday 22 June 2009 at 5:24 am

With large social networking sites and cheaper hosting for people to start their own sites on, the internet is becoming a larger and stronger building block for your online reputation and fame. As is anywhere in the world, the first thing to having an identity is having a name; in my case I’m known as Amirmullick3 all over the internet. This identity can be anything from a combination of letters and numbers to simply your own real name.

Now all you have to do is start a website of some sort and depending on your budget you’ll either go with buying a domain name and hosting or setting up a free blog with BlogSpot, WordPress, Webs, or some other site of that sort. Once you have that going it all comes down to how many visitors you have to your site and how long they remain on your site to view its contents (something measured as bounce rate).

Use FaceBook

Facebook is one of the most professional social networking sites thats used today by almost every person in the loop of things. From universities requiring students to join to businesses requiring Facebook profile check’s after job interviews, Facebook has come a long way in making large differences in the lives of many. First thing you want to do is to add all the people you know and want to stay connected with and stay up to date with on things. After that, “become a fan” of all the different things you can find such as “sleeping,” “cuddling,” and other such groups on Facebook.

Once you have that, you’ll have already intertwined your profile with thousands on Facebook. After you have a large number of friends, create a group on Facebook and spread the word about your group and see how quickly the viral spread of your group creates a large community of people for you. With thousands of people constantly reading your status updates and receiveing your requests to join groups and other programs you’re already many times more famous than you were before.

Twitter-Up

Twitter is a very well known and highly recognized social networking site. With loads of applications and billions of users “following” what people around the world wide web are doing was never easier. Just join and start following every single person, site, organization, and group that you can find and in time they’ll follow you as well. Thus, you’ll create a large circle of friends who will constantly get update reports on what you’re doing and things you’re involved in, making every single move you take known to millions all over.

There are many twitter applications and twitter related sites that help you network with thousands all over, and some of the well known ones can be found here.

With Twitter, you can easily share all your Digg submissions, forum works, and much more without even having to use a touch of a finger. Its that easy to be famous.

Write, Escribe, Likho kuch, Just do it –

The above says write in three languages, English, Spanish, and Hindi, just to let you know. Writing is strong and makes you and your opinions matter. Anyone can just sit there and think of theories, ideas, and much more but without writing it down he’ll never become famous. Lets take Albert Einstein, for example, he was an extremely intelligent and unique person but had he never written Relativity: The Special and General Theory in 1920 then he would have never became as famous as he is today.

Everyone has their own craze or hobby and sharing your thoughts about it will often provoke others of similar taste to talk about it as well. Once you have your blog up and running, find people and show them what you have and just see what they say back. Once its on its gonna be better every day. More people posting on your blog, more people surfing your site - its all about traffic. Now go get famous. Look at me, im trying hard. ;-)
